Aid for FATA

The US, being the largest provider of assistance to FATA, granted $55 million (Rs 4.5 billion) as a part of the strategic agreements worth Rs 75 billion signed by both the governments. It is now the responsibility of Pakistani authorities to see that hefty amounts such as this one are utilised in fighting against terrorism.

Schools, colleges and hospitals will be a huge plus to the FATA region. Due to commitment and valiant efforts of the locals and Pakistan military, the militants have been forced to retreat. Now it is time that utilisation of these funds is done for a brighter tomorrow. However, one cannot expect from any donor to come forward to assist Pakistan from its current crisis when there is a major lapse in transparency. Majority citizens believe that this factor hinders the prospering of our country.
